Why wear motorcycle protective gear?
Well, for me it’s simple, I don’t want to have my body’s useful (and handsome) parts dragged down the asphalt or the dirt because I took a spill. I love my life, my family and riding motorcycles too and I want to keep on doing all of the above!
If you’ve ever dumped your ride, whoever’s fault it was, you know what that can do to mess you up. So, add a good motorcycle helmet, a road-rash resistant jacket and pants, plus some stout motorcycle boots and gloves – motorcycle protective gear – all to protect those vluable parts of you.
Living next to a no-helmet law state, I see lots of riders tooling along bare-headed, often even in sneakers and shorts, and I offer up a silent prayer for them, should the worst happen. When one of my friends got dumped at over 50 mph, he and his bike slid for some 8-10 long seconds down the asphalt, fully geared up he suffered only a small scrape where the edge of his jacket slid up from his wrist!
Do yourself a favor and adopt the ATGATT concept – All The Gear All The Time!
Ride Safe,
Steve
